Portstewart Golf Club – Strand Course

Portstewart Golf Club's Strand Course is regularly ranked among the top 20 courses in Ireland and the top 100 in the world. The course opens with a spectacular run of holes through towering sand dunes — arguably the most dramatic opening stretch of any links in Ireland — before heading out along the cliffside to the estuary of the River Bann. The combination of dunes, coastal cliffs and estuary views gives Portstewart a variety and grandeur that few courses can match.

The club hosted the Irish Open on multiple occasions, most recently in 2017 when Jon Rahm claimed his first European Tour victory with a stunning final round. The course plays to 6,784 yards from the championship tees and, whilst welcomingly open to visitors, demands respect and course management from the first tee. Green fees of £100–£150 represent excellent value for a course of this stature and quality. Advance booking is recommended throughout the season.
